Working Online - A New Trend

By Alistair Lamberang

Recently a lot of people opt to work from home. We have article writers, online bloggers, retailers, web developers, business consultants and even those pay-per-click internet surfers. It's a widely accepted trend worldwide and we should expect that this can be applicable for centuries to come. I have seen highly skilled individual addicted to this new sense of freedom from a supervisor or time schedules. You are your own boss in a minute sense. Don't get me wrong a lot succeeded in this career however they have really spent time and effort to be where they are now.

Most would think that this is really simple, (well it is) but it will still depend on the skills of the worker and the competition is harder. It crosses geographical boundaries even time-zone would be irrelevant if provider-and-buyer can find an understanding regarding work hours. In normal job applications you'll probably have 20-50 competitors but online it can easily reach hundreds in numbers. You realize that one should be well-prepared in order to have an edge against any competitors.

Develop your skills and adapt to this trend it would never be hard for any employer to replace you. Set goals both short and long term ones. Assess every situation that would bring revenue or losses to the company and act accordingly. I strongly believe that a worker should protect the company in order for him to protect himself.

There's nothing that can stop this from being a standard for employment. So I leave you with three last statements.

Be ready.

Be wise.

Be fast.
